How about a bit of Footy?

Many of you don't know that I'm a football fan. Yes, me, the fat blob of a twat is a football (that's soccer for those that don't speak English) fan. Rarely will I talk about sport. Frankly that's because I couldn't care less about who is playing or who plays for which team. Sport is the key, not players. Yes, yes, I know a team would be nothing without truly great players to help the team, but a great player is NOTHING without his or her team.

Today was the UEFA Champion League Final match. This, the first ever all England final, was held in Moscow Russia (as opposed to Moscow Idaho). Manchester United (arguably the best team in the world) versus Chelsea. Now I know I should be cheering for Chelsea as the stadium is all of 2 miles from my flat here in London, but I was rooting for Man U. Today, just as last week when they won the Barclay's Premier League against Chelsea only 10 days ago, they have proven they belong on top. Today, Manchester United has shown the world that when you work as a team no one can bring you down.

Chelsea had the chance to level the score today after a defeat on 11 May at the Barclay Premier final. Unfortunately, they just couldn't muster the strength to pull it off. Truly it didn't help when in the final minutes of the game one of the Chelsea team (Didier Drogba) was caught by the referee slapping a Man U player (Nemanja Vidic). He was immediately red carded and Manchester's odds of winning sky rocketed from 50-50 to 100%.

In a dramatic finish to the game, after 92 minutes of regular play, and 33 minutes of extra time, Manchester pulled off a beautiful victory, slaying Chelsea in penalty kicks, 6-5. United's goalie Edwin Van Dar Sar brought home the victory, snatching it from Chelsea in the final penalty kick of the game. A beautiful moment that would inspire even the most ardent of couch potatos to leap from his deep ass worn seat and cheer and scream. Van Dar Sar in a brilliant move that denied Chelsea all hopes of returning to England as champions read Anelka like a book and swatted his kick off to the far side of the goal.

Sadly, though it was an outstanding all England match, there had to be a loser. Still, Chelsea played exceptionally right to the end. Kudos are deserved for each of the players, save one. Drogba should be ashamed for letting his emotions ride high on his sleeve and finding himself red-carded in the final 3 minutes of the match. Perhaps if he had stayed level headed they could have won. Alas, it was not to be. Yet, Chelsea deserves immense praise. In all, England is the true winner tonight. Again, English football is heads and shoulders above the rest of the world, and Manchester takes home the trophy.
