For the last 5 days I've been in beautiful London towne in jolly ol' England. The first two days here it was a bit moist...well, ok, it rained. I thought it was absolutely great! I love the rain, cold, and the snow. It looks as though I'll be quite happy to be here if that's what I have to look forward to.
Mom was a bit of a maniac with finding a flat immediately upon arriving. She's a mother after all, so I'm sure she only had my best in mind. That being said, she was driving me nuck'n futs! I've never walked so much in a day in my life! And remember folks, I went throught survival training in the military! I must have walked back and forth across the city at least a dozen times. There must have been something good about the day because I found a nice little flat on the second full day being in the city.
Ok, ok, that's Kensington Palace, former home of the late lovely Diana Princess of Wales (big ears' ex-wife). It was amazing to walk through her former home and see the beauty in which she lived.
Today, Monday the 27th of August, was a bank holiday. There are quite a few of the them throughout the year. Eight to be exact. Both times I've visited London I've misteriously managed to coming on a bank holiday weekend! On this holiday mum and I decided to watch the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace. Quite a site.
The following photos are of the changing of the guard and the Royal Mews. If you can figure out what mews means then more power to you. Here's a hint, it's not the sound a cat makes. It has something to do with falcons. I would say what it means by the chap at the Royal Mews who was explaining it wasn't too coherent.
And finally....
Oh good lord, how did those get in there. Cheeky blogspot!
England is finally starting to get modern automobiles. This one is a mere 3 months old!
No, no, these are the modern cars. If you look closely at the wheels you'll be able to tell which kind they are. Trust me when I say that I was just as shocked as you are right now to see who makes them. It makes you wonder why we can't get these in America. We'd certainly have less polution!
Well, that's all for this week. I'll write more next week after I've settled in to my flat and have some time to myself to ponder whether I'm doing the right thing by being here or not. It'll be a short thought really. Until then I leave you with this thought.....
Man who have hole in pocket feel cocky all day!
Cheers!!!

They do have those Mercedes Smart-cars here now. I saw one at Pebble Beach last week, and not on display.
